The Holloways

North London group The Holloways have had a radical shift in form since the success of their debut album, So This Is Great Britain?, released on TVT Records on 30th October 2006, with a 2-disc reissue in 2007. Formed in 2004,  the group's first two singles, the future single Generator in 2005 and Happiness & Penniless in 2006, were very limited runs on the small Sensible Records label. TVT then signed them off the success of these singles, and released Two Left Feet and fully released Generator in August and on the 16th October respectively, followed by the only issue of Dancefloor in March 2007 before Generator and Two Left Feet were both reissued in June and September of the same year, with the Generator reissue hitting #14 on the charts. Then everything collapsed for the group in December 2008, when during the writing sessions for the scrapped "Tales From The Tarmac" album, the Nambucca venue, where the band demoed and wrote all their tracks, caught fire, with tens of thousands of pounds' worth of damage caused. This accident caused the group's guitarist Rob Skipper and drummer Dave Danger to quit, leaving lead guitarist David Jackson and bassist Bryn Fowler not only to find new band members, but a new label as TVT Records collapsed due to the credit crunch. They did find a bassist and a drummer, signed to The Orchard label (who had actually bought out TVT), and released an EP, Sinners & Winners, before their second album No Smoke, No Mirrors was released in October 2009, over 2 years since the STIGB? re-issue. Generator's video is below, followed by the downloads.
