The Horrors

The Horrors are a Southend-based garage rock quintet with a dark sound and even darker image. Formed in 2005 via a shared interest in garage rock, the group's first single, the sub-120 second Sheena Is A Parasite released in April 2006, was released on the Loog label, where the band would stay for the whole of their first album, Strange House. Prior to the album, the singles Death At The Chapel, from July, and Count In Fives, from October, were chart ineligible due to the inclusion of stickers within the singles. The first chart-applicable single, Gloves, hit #34 when released in February 2007, before the album dropped the next month. Final single She Is The New Thing ended the band's association with Loog, before recent independent music experts XL Recordings picked up the group for 2009's brighter Primary Colours album. Count In Fives' video is below, and so are the downloads.
