The Hours

Formed in 2004 by Antony Genn and Martin Slattery, who were former members of Joe Strummer's backing band The Mescaleros, The Hours are a Sheffield-based duo who make intelligent music, and have artwork designed by famous UK artist Damien Hirst. Genn was formerly in Pulp and Elastica, and some of the Britpop sound from those bands can be heard at times, e.g. in their debut single Ali In The Jungle, which was released in November 2006. This was followd up by Back When You Were Good in January 2007, before the duo's first album, Narcissus Road, dropped in February of that year, followed by post-album single Love You More. The pair's second album, See The Light, released on 20th April 2009 had a lot less promotion than the debut, with the only two singles being released before it: See The Light in December 2008, and Big Black Hole, two weeks before the album hit the shelves. Ali In The Jungle's video is below, followed by the downloads.
