Plan B

London-born rapper-turned-soul singer Ben Drew, best known as Plan B, first got noticed after self-releasing his first double-A side Kidz / Dead and Buried in early 2005, and was consequently picked up by 679 Recordings, who released his second double-A side, Sick 2 Def / No Good, in December. Missing Links was planned to be released as his second single in April 2006, but due to clearance issues was only available as a video-only single. His first album, Who Needs Actions When You Got Words, was released in June and received universal positive acclaim. Mama (Loves A Crackhead) followed in July, and No Good was released on its own for the first time in February 2007, ending his WNAWYGW singles. He returned in 2009 but only on featured singles; End Credits with Chase & Status proving the most popular, hitting #9 in the UK Charts. January 2010 saw the first new material with Stay Too Long, which had an indicative shift in sound from his acoustic hip hop origins to a more soul and more vocal-focused sound; this was to become part of his second album, as was the next single She Said in March, which hit #3 in the UK Charts; his most successful single yet. The album, The Defamation Of Strickland Banks, a concept album about a soul singer who ends up in prison followed in April and debuted at #1. No Good's video is below, with downloads afterwards.
