The Rapture

Formed in 1998, originally as a three-piece, The Rapture have been one of the pioneering forces in the development of the dance punk genre, along with fellow New Yorker LCD Soundsystem. The group's first full release, January 1999's Mirror mini-album, was more post-punk than future releases, with follow-up EP Out Of The Races And Onto The Tracks from May 2001 also showing a post-punk revival vibe, albeit less than their debut. The quartet's major label debut, 8th September 2003's Echoes followed up, receiving critical acclaim from music journalists. 3 years and 4 days after their debut major, their second, more dance-oriented Pieces Of The People We Love was released, with critical and commercial prominence down from the last album. They contributed the track No Sex For Ben to 2008's Grand Theft Auto IV, and are currently writing for their third album. House Of Jealous Lovers is below, with downloads after.
