Operator Please

Gold Coast youngsters Operator Please formed in 2005 while still in high school (the band were originally formed for their high school's Battle Of The Bands contest). After releasing their first EP On The Prowl independently in 2006, the February 2007 follow-up Cement Cement got attention from Virgin Records Australia, who promptly signed the band. July saw the release of the mad Just A Song About Ping Pong, with the next single Get What You Want following in October. November saw their first album, Yes Yes Vindictive, released in Australia, although it wouldn't hit UK shores until March 2008. Nevertheless, the group pushed on, with Leave It Alone being released in February (in Europe, the releases of GWYW and LIA were swapped over). The final single from the album was June's Two For My Seconds, after which keyboardist Sarah Gardiner left the band. The group's darker follow-up album, Gloves, was released in April 2010. Just A Song About Ping Pong's video is below, with downloads afterwards.
