Interpol

Known as one of the founding and more influential post-punk revival groups, New York's dark Interpol formed in 1997 and released their first EP in 2000 as part of Scottish label Chemikal Underground's Fukd ID series (Interpol's release was #3 in the series). This was followed by the 500-only release of the Precipitate EP in 2001. Matador then picked up the group, where they released a self-titled EP in June 2002 before the group's highly acclaimed debut, Turn On The Bright Lights, was released in August 2002, with follow-up singles Obstacle 1 and double-A side Say Hello To The Angels/NYC coming along in September and April 2003 respectively. For the group's next album, 27th September 2004's Antics, preceding single Slow Hands (released 2 weeks before) indicated a more uplifting and brighter side to the group's music. Follow-up single Evil, released in January 2005, hit #18 on the UK charts and is one of the group's classic tracks. Last single C'mere was released in April, and the group left the Matador label in March 2006 to sign with major label Capitol in August of the same year. The group's third album, Our Love To Admire, released in July 2007, has been considered by fans to be the worst of the group's discography, although critical reception was positive. Evil's video is below, as are the downloads.
