Larrikin Love

Twickenham's folk-based quartet of Larrikin Love were only around for two years, but in that time they did make a large impact. Formed in 2005, the group's first single, September's Six Queens, was on the well-selecting Young And Lost Club label, which got the group a limited single release, the first issue of Happy As Annie, in October on the prominent Transgressive Records label. Following these limited releases, the four-piece were signed onto Warner's roster, where they released their first major single, Edwould, in April 2006. This was followed by their first top 40 hit, Downing Street Kindling, in June, and the full issue of Happy As Annie a week before their only album, The Freedom Spark, dropped on 25th September. The group's last single, Well, Love Does Furnish A Life, was also their highest charting, hitting #31 upon its release in January 2007. The group then disbanded in May, with all the members going on to their own projects. Downing Street Kindling's video is below, as are the downloads.
