Mystery Jets

Formed on Eel Pie Island in Twickenham in 2004, folk-based fivesome Mystery Jets released their first single, Zoo Time, on Transgressive Records on Valentine's Day 2005. This was followed up by a signing to 679 Recordings, although their second single, On My Feet, was released on Paul Epworth's Good & Evil imprint in June. The first album single, You Can't Fool Me Dennis, was released in October, followed shortly after by Alas Agnes in December. The group got onto Top Of The Pops for the only time with February 2006's The Boy Who Ran Away, which peaked at #23 in the UK Charts. Their album, Making Dens, came out in March, with a re-issue of YCFMD following in May, with final single Diamonds In The Dark arriving in September. The group then went on a global tour for most of 2007, with Henry Harrison deciding to not play live with the band anymore, but he is still part of the group studio-wise. March 2008 saw the release of the band's newest single, Young Love, featuring London singer-songwriter Laura Marling. This release had confirmed a change of sound, with the folk roots from the early years non-existant. 2 weeks after the single, on 24th March, the second album Twenty One was released, although it was reissued on 9th June after the success of second single Two Doors Down the week previously, charting at #24. The last single from the album was Half In Love With Elizabeth, and also the last Jets release on 679 as the group left shortly after. The group's newest album, Serotonin, was released on Rough Trade on 5th July 2010. You Can't Fool Me Dennis' video is below, with the downloads following.
